This page lists the most common error messages and solutions. DOS Programs: (think about upgrading to Windows!) Error 70 - Permission Denied. The program is open more than once, it's trying to display a screen that is already open. Close the program, look by the Start Button on the Desktop. Click on whatever is displayed. If all else fails, re-boot the computer. Errors 75 and 75 - Network Errors. Usually appears when trying to Save or Recall information from another computer. The network connection is not available. Make sure the other computer is on, try rebooting. Error 13 - Type Mismatch. The program found characters when it expected numbers. Check entries. Error 6 - Overflow. The program is attempting to divide by 0. Most likely some number it needs wasn't entered. Forms won't print: Make sure the caps are LOCKED. If the forms still won't print try printing a test page in Windows. (Control Panel - Printers - Right click on your printer then chose Properties. Look around for Printing a Test Page) Some computers either have a virus that affects DOS printing or something has happened to the CMOS setup. You'll need a computer repairman. Windows Programs: Any errors should be promptly reported to our office. The program is constantly updated to eliminate errors, but we need to be made aware of them. Never hit CTRL-ALT-DEL when the program is open. This could result in total loss of data! Possible Error Messages and Solution: Invalid use of NULL - the program wants information but can't find it, usually a number. Try entering any missing data. Path not found - Most likely a network error. Information is trying to be saved or retrieved from another computer, but the connection is not valid. Make sure the other computer is turned on, reboot your computer. Type Mismatch - The program is looking for numbers but finding characters. Try entering any missing information or correcting wrong information. Some re-programming may be required to get past the problem - contract us. The wrong deal prints: Make sure the deal was saved successfully. Do not use 00 for the Year of Sold Vehicle if selling a 2000. Make sure some Dollar information has been entered and Saved. New Users of the program sometimes experience errors with databases - Most errors can be solved by exiting the Screen or Module and trying again. For Lien Holders, Salespersons and Inventory, always click ADD before entering totally new information. Click SAVE or Confirm Change when complete. Do not use any characters other than NUMBERS in the MILEAGE field.
